The Good Thieves by Katherine Rundell published by Bloomsbury

I was thrilled to get a proof copy of Katherine Rundell's latest book. Several years ago now Katherine visited our book club- in fact I think she was one of the first authors to visit us. We were all enthralled by her as she told us how she would start every day donning her ballet shoes to walk her small tightrope in her office before she tied herself to her seat to ensure she wrote and focused. I can clearly remember being enchanted by her ethereal quality as she spoke of how she came to write Rooftoppers. Katherine has written another fabulous book- she has created another strong young female whose own body drives her forward at moments of mental fear.

Vita set her jaw, and nodded at New York City in greeting, as a boxer greets an opponent before a fight.

Fresh off the boat from England, Vita Marlowe has a job to do. Her beloved grandfather Jack has been cheated out of his home and possessions by a notorious conman with Mafia connections. Seeing Jack's spirit is broken, Vita is desperate to make him happy again, so she devises a plan to outwit his enemies and recover his home.

She V finds a young pickpocket, working the streets of the city. And, nearby, two boys with highly unusual skills and secrets of their own are about to be pulled into her lawless, death-defying plan.

Katherine Rundell's fifth novel is a heist as never seen before - the story of a group of children who will do anything to right a wrong.'

And when i came to the close of the book I felt compelled to start it again and am so enjoying appreciating all the magical moments and resonances that the book is packed with. A rip roaring read, majestic storytelling with a quartet of young misfits- each wonderfully unique who have all embraced who they are and who together well, you'll have to read the book.....

And yes wel have lots of copies available in the shop order your copy here x
